tried the new release
now is not needed anymore to manually close popups
the popups do not hang the system anymore WELL DONE
2D navigation is ok but somewhat slower than usual
3D one is snappy but tends to randomly crash my phone
during the crash the system loses GPS, but remains menu responsive. On the attempt to close waze the phone hangs with the last navigation screen on.
No response to any button, only hard reboot will fix the problem.
Another problem I have noticed is that randomly I get a "lost GPS" notice, this was not happening before.
but definitely a milestone not to have to manually close the popups

Waze crashes on me every time I get within about 100 yards of my house. It has done this since the last two updates. After the big update that was the first in a long while I figured it would get sorted out pretty quick, but the new update hit and I still have the issue. When it crashes it is bad enough I have to fully power cycle the phone too.

I thought maybe it was connecting to my wifi and causing a crash during the switchover in data but I disabled wifi and still have the issue. I live in front of a gas station and when I get close enough to see the price to report it I'll crash every time. I now have to shut down waze a half mile from home to avoid the crash. I have waze set to not remember my route, but it apparently is? Only thing I can figure as nothing else is running on the phone, wifi is off, and waze works perfectly all other times for me.

Only major issue I've found, almost all other aspects in waze have improved for me.

My phone is a Samsung S3, not rooted and running factory image of Android 4.0.4.

Howdy.

1) Getting the gps not available when 500m or so of destination. A small msg saying hiding location would be fine instead.

2) Had two occasions on long drives that map data does not load, looks like I'm driving in 'the void'. Other apps could exchange data. Thought of reinstalling but once I got wifi when I got home waze was able to download map data no problem. No 'no connection' msg appeared in waze on top.

Experimented with google maps. It sucked. Back on waze.

My first key impression:

Waze is FINALLY stable when running in the background .... every version prior to the 3.4.x beta / 3.5.x releases would crash if I would switch to another mobile app for more than 15-20 seconds.

Now it stays running for essentially the entire drive - which is on average between 30-60 minutes for me.

Good job for that improved stability!

Still though, it doesn't explain why my icon will often face the wrong direction when I'm stopped at an intersection. It's not technically new behaviour, but it's a lot worse since this update.

Interesting, I had a similar problem at a particular intersection, but it has stopped completely since one of the last 2 releases (not sure which one though.)

This morning, I had an alert saying "Danger ahead"
And I found that the danger was not on my road...
See the 2 picture below (the other road is not connected to mine). We are at 2 differents levels.
I'm surprised... I thought that Waze was able to detect on which road I'm an did not care of what happens on other roads ?
It was near 7h31. Logs sents.

This mornig got again the "No network available" when I wanted to send a report !
Network was good on my phone.
It was near 7h38. Logs sents.

1) Text do not fit on screen. End of sentence is missing in both fields.
I think the area for the text is too small !

2) Note also that for the ranking in french, numbers do not contains a comma.
On the screeshot, the value is "1,955" and should be "1 955".

Still problems with getting up gas stations when traveling in Tungelsta, Haninge, Sweden

Waze can find no gas stations on this route. Logs are sent.



And the blinking screen are still here

This morning, I had an alert saying "Danger ahead"
And I found that the danger was not on my road...

This is an old bug that's related to the fact that the distance is calculated as the crow flies and not by the actual mileage. We're indeed aware of that problematic behavior, but unfortunately I don't know when the fix will be deployed.
