So Im driving down the road and decide to open my Waze app. I tell Siri "open Waze" and she says "There appears to be no app named why". This is so frustrating because I try to open Waze through Siri for another 20 mins to no avail. She just doesnt get how to pronounce Waze. I even tried saying "Waaazzz" and still she doesnt open it.

Go complain to Apple. Siri is not a Waze product, nor is Siri's lack of ability anything Waze can fix.
I've heard you have to say the letters. And not even that works all the time.

There's a thread somewhere around here that has info on some very strange pronunciation that they found to work. If I remember correctly, the trick is to pronounce it the same way Siri does...

After Siri fails to understand you, scroll up whilst in the Siri screen, find your dictate request (e.g "Open Way"), tap on it and edit the text to what you actually said. Siri will then try to learn your accent.

If you're jailbroken there is an app in Cydia called SiriLove. It recognizes Waze as default GPS.
So you can open Waze directly, or you can ask for directions and Siri will open Waze by default.

Too late. Why don't you just fire up while walking to your car?
