Won't go aboe Knight Wazer

For over a month my scoreboard has said that I have a negative number of points to get to royalty. Right now it says -954 and shows on the graph that I am already past the royalty level, but I am stuck on knight. What gives?

That's not a minus, it's a tilde. It means approximately 954 points. To get royalty you must be in the top users in your area (state for US or country for the rest of the world, I believe). As the top users are also always gaining points it can be difficult to get if you're in an area with a particularly large number of very active top users.
