Client Update roads on Map

Postby martin277 » Tue Oct 13, 2009 8:32 pm

Hi,

It would be great to have an option (in the client)under the reports button with map edit features. For example to report a new roundabout while driving, or a oneway street correction, or to have the option to give the street wou are driving a name.
As I waze around in the Netherlands, with not much reference roads recorded and no sattelite images in cartouche, these options in the client would be very usefull.

That's exactly what the "report map problem" option is for. Those reports show up as big red circles in the map editor, and you or your area manager can fix them.

That's a bit different. The "Map Problems" layer contains automatically-reported problems based on the maps themselves and how the GPS traces correlate to them. The "Update Requests" layer is the one you described; reporting a map problem will create a non-numbered red circle in this layer.

Martin,

A2/A27 intersection is correct. Only problem in the Netherlands is, people keep driving mapped roads with 'record new roads' enabled. This creates a lot of new 'roads' (red lines), in areas such as above. All of those problems can be fixed by deleting the 'red lines' (which is an annoying job I'm doing every so often).
