Hi All,

My name is Orit, Project Manager-Localiztion at Waze.
I received a request to add the fuel type E10, but that means one of the current fuel types will be deleted since we can only support a total of 4 fuel types per country.
Should we add the E10? if so, what fuel type should be deleted instead?
I would appreciate your feedback in this matter.

Hi Orit,

Currently, there are in France :
- 3 gasolines : SP95, SP98 and SP95-E10 (which includes 10% ethanol fuel and is replacing the traditionnal SP95, but old cars are not compatible with it, so SP95 is maintained)
- 1 diesel fuel
- 1 liquefied petroleum gas, the GPL

I prefer to let Country Managers, Area Managers and Waze Champs to advice which 4 types to list in Waze.

My understanding is that SP95-E10 is the most commercialized now (SP95 is only existing in few gas stations and its price is close to SP95-E10).

Hi Orit,

That's a tough question, and I guess the correct answer depends on where you live. For example, in Paris, and some other major cities, SP95 has been mostly replaced by SP95-E10. But in other regions, SP95 is still alive and kicking. For example, in my own region, many gas stations provide both SP95 and SP95-E10.

You could check out http://www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr/ The site is in French, but if you select "SP95 & SP95-E10" in the box on the left, you can just click on any region and get an idea of what kinds of fuel types are provided.

But in my area there is a lot of stations with only SP95, SP95-10 is quite rare I think and because it's not recommanded for old cars, I advise to let SP95!

I strongly agree.
Since no (well maybe a few) station sell both SP95 and SP95-E10, I think we should keep SP95.

For example, in Lyon and its outskirts, I would say that less than half of the gas stations sell only SP95. Most of them sell SP95-E10 or both SP95 & SP95-E10.

How about other major cities ?

If you can use SP95-E10, you can use SP95, so why do we wanna suppress SP95 for SP95-E10...

If you can't use SP95-E10, no way, you won't find any prices...

So to my mind we have to use SP95 for E10 or for SP95 only. But we "can't" use only SP95-E10...

I don't understand the utility to change SP95 to SP95-E10...

the best could be like NitroFuel said : put the both terms but I don't know if it's possible
