I can reproduce this behavior every single time. I've never seen an app just pop back up like that before. Of course, very few apps need to be "exited" to stop running in the background. Nav apps are one of the special ones.

Interestingly, if you shut down Waze, hit home and then power off (quickly), Waze will exit normally and not pop back up.

I retract that part of it. Either it has stopped happening sometime today, or it never happened in today's beta and I just didn't test it properly. I was still half asleep when I installed the beta this morning and did a few quick tests.

The part about hitting the sleep button too quickly after switching off stands though.

Driving home this evening, I skipped a turn Waze wanted me to take. At that point, it recalculated the route but the screen became stuck or fixed at the lat/lon position. The screen would rotate as I made turns, and it gave proper TTS and turn instructions on the screen were correct, and I could even see my car icon as in 3D mode, I could "see myself in the distance" following my actual location. But no matter what I did, the map lat/lon didn't change.

I uploaded logs for this at around 4:30AM GMT.
