BUG: App cannot recover from long network outage. (Existing, long-time bug.)

When driving in remote areas with little to no data coverage for more than 30 minutes, the app will fail to reconnect to the Waze network even though the rest of the phone operates just fine. The only way to get it to work is to exit the app and restart.

HOWEVER, as with previous versions, Waze can still upload logs even while "Searching network..."

The netcode continues, after so many version, to really really need to be made more robust and be able to recover from long network outages. There are a lot of remote highways which likely have no decent speed data due to this bug.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the beta or if it was already present before, but the beta makes it more visible.

On the friends list, each friend will state "last seen 'x' time ago". My values are completely nonsense. I can see a friend driving, and half an hour later when he's not online anymore, the client tells me "last seen 7 days ago".

It's also weird that people I know are not actively using the client I can send a message, but people that are always using the client I can't.
Edit: wait, maybe the message enable friends are iPhones and the other ones are Androids? Isn't the android push mechanism implemented on waze?

Not new, but it remains to be fixed: German TTS is much too silent.

While english TTS is fine, the german version is not sufficiently loud for freeway-driving. The german standard guidance is fine, but TTS is badly usable. It's been this way since it became available...

The improvement in the current betas: Finally, it's possible to use the "minimum guidance" without TTS again, so I can choose to use loud and clear guidance instead of barely audible long TTS-directions.

Had a trip out today which was totally uneventful in that the freezing/crashing of the app I reported in the two previous betas is definitely fixed.

Only other thing to report from today's limited testing is that Speed camera warning ARE STILL obscuring the map (Yes I am going to keep reminding about this until it's fixed or I can disable the warning captions but keep the cameras on the map)

Lots more driving tomorrow so I'll have a proper play then.

Hi, on iphone4 the menu screen popup window should change its size while going to landscape mode.
Added some screenshots, it has been mentioned in previous posts also...




On waze.com website, logged in via the latest firefox, i cant connect my waze account with fb account, allthough the connection is established via my ipad or iphone just fine. So there is no way for me to look into scoreboard w/o my mobile device.

Had some dodgy connection issues today, no network even with full data. Logs sent just now!

not shure if this bug is beta related or newly gas prices feature in Czech Republic, but when i try to update prices, i get a message, that prices are incorrect. Also it is maybe related to prices of diesel, because there is not a lot of diesel prices added in comparsion to natural.

That is by design to keep the size of the menu the same regardless of device and orientation. Many users do not like it.

I am locking this thread as the next beta has been released.
