The old Middlegreen Road bridge has been removed as part of Crossrail works. The replacement bridge is scheduled for installation during Easter, reopening to traffic in late April 2013.

Network Rail press release

25/01/13: Segment ID 121767754 has been disconnected from both of its adjoining segments.

On completion of the bridge replacement works, reconnect this segment at both ends.

Just noticed an automated report on this - has the bridge been opened to traffic early or is this a cyclist/pedestrian?

Could be a cyclist polluting the data, or it could simply be the Waze report generator using very old drive data to compare against the current map - we know it does use historical data rather than just using recent drives, and this bridge was only closed to road traffic a few months ago so there could still be some older drives being used as comparison data here.

Nothing on the Crossrail site to say the bridge has reopened ahead of schedule, but I'll pass by there later this week to check just in case they've worked a miracle...

Did a drive-by on the way home today, and the bridge is still well and truly closed off to vehicular traffic...

Although the new bridge is now in place, the road closure period has been extended to an unspecified point in May or June to allow for additional works adjacent to the bridge. A drive-by yesterday afternoon confirmed the closure was still in force.
