UK Driving and "My Lane"

Postby mrgrumpy » Fri Feb 24, 2012 11:11 pm

Tried to search for this to see if its been discussed elsewhere, but....

I know in the UK we like to be different, but when I report Traffic Jams etc and get the option of My Lane or Other Lane the arrows are on the wrong side.

Not a major issue I know, but it would be nice if it was right. :geek:

I won't hold my breath on this one though. :ugeek:

Maybe easier just to remove the arrows vs. trying to figure out what side to put them on for each country.

Could do.
But often a visual clue is handy when you're trying to watch the road as well.

Us Brits just like to be awkward!

Not just us though! Don't Malta and Cyprus drive on the "proper" side too? Not to mention Australia ;)

The Waze app already knows when it's in a left-hand drive country, as it displays the correct navigation for roundabouts (I think). Fixing the lane icons should be trivial...

Although isn't any navigation, including roundabouts based on the road directionality and direction of the turn?

I mean the navigation icons. They were wrong in v2.0

There is as a road in Bath that used to be the wrong way round, but looking at the latest aerials it's now buses only, I think.

Actually it would be pretty handy to report "both lanes" too
