Car stopped on road

Hi all

We can report a car stopped on shoulder but not on road.

It should be added, do you agree ?

It should. Just report as an object for now, or choose nothing. This has been asked many times.

That's what I initially thought. Except, of it's a street without a hard shoulder then Wazers can assume it's in the way. On,y time that this is true is when a car fully breaks down in the middle of a motorway with hard shoulder, and that only happens every so often. In that situation you tend to be going so slowly that you can free-text in the comments.

I think they should have more icons for the reports so that users can quickly see if it's an object on the road or construction rather than a car on the shoulder or a missing sign without having to tap it.

I agree. Moreover, I don't see the benefit of reporting cars stopped on the shoulder, as they don't interfere with traffic or the driveability of the road.

Not always true. It depends, IMO, on how close to the road they are. If the car is close enough that drivers should, for safety of the parked car, move over because there could be people out on the shoulder between the parked car and traffic, I will post it.

Good point. I live in Atlanta, GA, and in my daily commute, I go through 6 and 7 lane highways, were cars stopped on shoulder, are so out of the way, that it's not an issue. I agree, people should not post those, when they don't affect traffic. I also agree with the first post, there should be a quick way to post cars stopped on the road.

Wouldn't it make more sense to change it to "vehicle stopped" instead? It would be good to then have the option to specify which kind of vehicle it is (car, truck, motorbike, etc.)

This has been discussed several times... What does it matter what type of vehicle it is? You still have to exercise caution & it's more buttons to press - most agree that is should be renamed "Vehicle stopped on shoulder", but it's simpler to just say "Car" for any vehicle...

Waze is currently saying vehicle stopped on shoulder for me. Using the 3.5.1.902 beta.
