Searching contacts yields zero results on iPhone 4S (iOS 6)

That's basically it. When I want to navigate to a friend's house (his address is in the proper place in the Contacts app), Waze reports zero results when I type his name into the search box.

If I type the first part of his actual address (which is not at all how I want Waze to work, by the way), no results are found that way either.

Is this a bug or a problem with my phone?

I was having the same problem. The only way Waze seems to be able to find an address is if you hit the navigate button, then the "Favorites" button and then enter the address from there and mark it as a favorite. I tried to search for 2 addresses using the search box on the "Navigate" page and it didn't find either one. Once I went to Favorites, clicked "Add New Favorite" and searched for the addresses, it found them instantly. I have an iPhone 5 (iOS 6), so I'd think this would work for you as well.

Thanks for the reply. Clearly the search function isn't working if you first have to add an address as a Favorite before you can search for it. I have a lot of contacts on my phone that I may want to navigate to at some point, so adding them all as Favorites in Waze seems...problematic. I know that's not what you're saying though.

It works for me right from the main nav page. Searches multiple address groups, too. IOS6, iPhone 5, Waze 3.2.2.0.

Try searching for only first or last name instead of full name. I am pretty sure it doesn't search anything but name for contacts. Are you sure you are you are scrolling over into the contacts search results section?

Ok, figured it out from McCracken808's link. I needed to allow Waze to access my contacts. Once I did that, the names popped up in the search results as expected.

Settings > Privacy > Contacts > Waze
