Reporting Bug on Android: Yelp & Waze Integration

Hi guys,

I couldn't find the bug reporting sub-forum so I posted here, hoping a mod can move this thread into the right place.

Anyways, here's a bug/problem I want to report (Android Waze):

I use Yelp to look for a place, press the "Map" for directions on how to get there. On Android, it gives me two options: Open with Maps or Waze. I choose Waze. When Waze opens, it gives me a blue screen and the address doesn't show up on Waze. No option to "Navigate here."

Does Yelp & Waze integration not work?

Well, first off Yelp is one of the internal providers to Waze, so you can search inside Waze and get Yelp results (you just have to select the correct tab).

It almost looks like your method is passing incorrect information to Waze an you are ending up in the middle of an ocean or something. Have you tried to zoom out (a lot) from where Waze puts that pin?

Are you using a Yelp App or the Yelp website?

So for example, I search for "Del Taco," go inside the Yelp page for its nearest location, and press "Find Direction." This opens the Waze app, and then the Waze app I guess just stops loading after opening, which gives me the blue screen.

I've tried zooming in/out, everything. It's not an ocean, just maps that fail to load. I have to turn off Waze, open Waze manually (not via Yelp) to get it to load the maps again.

Anyone who's using Android Yelp + Waze should try this and report back to see if they're experiencing the same problem.

Why don't you use that same search within the Waze app?

This is indeed a bug as above, the lat and long are swapped. Perlin was made aware but it didn't go any further. I too have seen this problem.

Why don't you use that same search within the Waze app?

I find the Yelp app offers better interface in terms of finding a POV, reading reviews, etc...
Will this issue be addressed to the developers?

I just did a search in the Yelp app (for the Pizza place I frequent) and tried to send the info to Waze. The pin was dropped somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. I was able to zoom out and pan & found Puerto Rico & then the rest of the USA.

I retried the search and found some roads in the Canary Islands, and then found the USA again (wondering why there are some roads on the NA Infrastructure that are in the Canary Islands, but that's a different thing to look into).

It looks like one of two things is happening...
1) The Lat & Long are being reversed and the pin is ending up in the wrong place
2) The Lat & Long are not being passed correctly and you are ending up at 0.0, 0.0 (Equator @ Prime Meridian)

Does anyone know of a way to read the info that the Yelp app is sending Waze? Or read the coordinates of the Pin that is created?

If you find a way to do it, could someone check photo spots on Google Now? Navigating to them is the same. Definitely a Waze issue.

I have no idea what you guys just said lol.

However, after updating the Waze today, i found out it's no longer showing the blue screen i posted. After pressing "Directions to this place" from the Yelp app, Waze launches and a list of nearby address appears. You guys should re-try again. It's still not working though, but at least no blue screen...
