I am but I only have 110238 edits.

I think Waze had planned to raise the bar to 200k, but either a) forgot or b) decided to manually promote a few people that were close. They also said that country-wide editing right wouldn't be given automatically any more, but that doesn't appear to be the case either.

That reminds me: I had a problem with my editable areas being only visible between two longitudes. I wonder if they fixed yet. Must check later (not that it matters to me any more). [Edit: Yes!]

I ping Support again on this matter, and got the following response from Ori:

Were amidst of a process to correct and improve the borders of Europe nowadays.

Our map-team is working on Europe's mainland coast line these days and will "arrive" to the UK shortly.

After all borders are corrected, we will upload this fix to the servers.

Meantime, if you wish, You can contact areamanagers@waze.com and inform them you wish to get a specific area on the coast of the UK.

By granting you editing permissions in a specific area, we can "work around" the borders' bug.

How do you ping support?

I filled in the www.waze.com/support form this afternoon, and got an email reply shortly after. Less than half-an-hour, if the timestamps are to be believed. I must have got lucky...

I'd love to be a country wide editor. I'm quite often editing at the edge of my boundaries and get the no permissions error. Only 150,000 more edits.
