Help with "General Errors"

Postby withoutmotive » Wed Jul 18, 2012 1:07 pm

A user has posted a number of problems in my area this past day, most of which I've been able to sort out, some I haven't been able to identify.
Before I mark these three as not identified, can someone take a look and make sure I'm not missing anything?

Thanks.

Just a heads up for AMs in the North West. It seems this person has been going around "identifying" problems wherever they can. The region seems to be covered in them now.

I checked out the three URs in the area posted above, but I could not see any issues with the route or nearby roads.

Not Identified is probably the right decision for these.

Thanks.
There are a lot of those around this area, north around the M6 and Liverpool area.
I suspect by the same user and lots of them can't really be identified.

Thanks again. :)

Hi,

You can/will also find situations where a user report has been raised and the areas or section has been edited since that report but (because we haven't had a map update for a considerable time now) the report has not been resolved (set as fixed etc) when it has.

Des. . . ;)

I can understand that but there was a map update the other day.
Today, whoever it is has been having a great time:

I think maybe they might be confused by Waze pointing them in the wrong direction. I think they assume it's a problem with Waze rather than Waze routing them around traffic problems. I can't see any issues with this area so considering a "Not identified" for all of them.

Looking at where they have come from, and where they might be going to (assuming all reports are from same person, which is likely) there is something amiss with the middle of their route: http://world.waze.com/livemap/?zoom=7&l ... =123455046 - I'd have expected Waze to navigate down Pottery Rd at some point, past KwikFit. Those first 4 URs (from the East) clearly show Waze really wanting to go another way. Not so sure about the other 3.

Check that the turn restrictions are correct along the A49.

There's definitely something wrong with that junction by KwikFit: http://world.waze.com/livemap/?zoom=8&l ... =152961545 - I suspect near the start of that route.

Might need to pull apart the junctions, and put them back together with new junctions.

I took that route this evening and it's all fine. The turn restrictions are ok. The driving directions are ok. Everything is in the right place. I'll take a closer look tomorrow.
