Bus & Taxi Lanes

Postby lew12 » Sat Jan 19, 2013 7:05 pm

Please excuse my ignorance here, but I can't find this on the wiki.

I am having troubles with this roundabout:

https://world.waze.com/editor/?zoom=7&l ... TTTTTTTTFT

One of the exits (the south-easterly one) is for buses and taxis only. To stop getting routed down it I have changed the permission on that exit, but a better solution would be somehow to mark that road as for buses only. Can this be done?

Related: What is the rule for roads which are all traffic in one direction, and buses only in the other?

(Apologies if this is on the wiki after all)

You could disconnect the far end of the exit segment (where it forms the Y with New Bedford Rd) so that Waze won't attempt to route down that segment at all. AFAIK there's no segment type you can use which is guaranteed to prevent Waze trying to send you along it no matter what, and turn restrictions/one-way settings have been known to get overruled too...

Setting it to be a Private Road would significantly reduce the chances of anyone being routed down it.

The problem with disconnecting it is that quite a lot of traffic uses that exit... I assume either taxis or people in buses... (or people disobeying the restrictions!)

Private Road might work.
