Is there a reason the straight-forward direction is restricted here? https://www.waze.com/editor/#?%23%3F=&z ... s=56645571

Actually, all the "turns" westward are disabled. Not sure if it is related to the issue, though.

routing glitch in the client

What is the edit date on that segment? Could it have been fixed and waiting for an update?

Does your glitch look something like those discussed here?:

That typically happens when waze has you snapped to a one-way road and you are going the other way. Any chance that the highway has been shifted since the aerials were taken?

routing glitch in the client

Postby sbelekevich » Sat Aug 11, 2012 12:52 am

On my drive to work, there is one spot where Waze locks me to the opposite direction lanes and tells me to make a u-turn to get back to my original route. During this I am just driving straight. I looked at the intersection before the map drought and thought I fixed it, and I don't see any issues with the roads.

It happens when I get to the intersection of McCarthy Rd. (I don't know where the little kink came from in the east side of the Waze provided route - that doesn't happen in the client.) It fixes itself when I keep driving further west. I put in the UR after the glitch, with the U-turn in the directions, unfortunately that didn't show up in the editor.

I have a UR in the location where this is happening here. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe make it a Mapcat bowtie to see if that fixes the routing issues?

No one has any ideas? Is this something that I should be reporting to the nanorep?

No. there is no indication that it is going to happen until you are near the start of the left turn lane. then I hear the little waze beep that signals that waze is recalculating. It turns the map around in the client and everything. it's kind of hard to exactly see what happens when you're going 50mph. I will try to remember to watch it tomorrow without routing on to see if it still happens.

OK. So, this problem has nothing to do with routing. I left navigation off and had a slow down in traffic so I could better watch what was going on.

When I approach the intersection, the map turns around 180 degrees and shows the car driving backwards down the road. Once I get to the actual intersection, the map turns back around and operates as normal.

Anyone know where I should report this problem, or what is causing it? There are no ghost segments underneath the road and this issue has occurred both on the new and old infrastructures.

Nope. The highway is straight as an arrow. My gps tracks are right on top of where they should be, according to the editor, to have no problems.

Usually when waze snaps you to a one way road going the opposite direction you're traveling in, it shows your car going sideways down the road (without flipping the map around, if I remember correctly from the last time I saw it happen)

Thanks, Tapatalk. Now I'm addicted to the forums too.

No, I've been watching this since before the infrastructure updates caused the map drought during July and Aug, so I had waited quite a while, patiently, before I posted about this problem.

No, that didn't have anything to do with the problem. They were disabled due to construction. I saw that a level 0 user was the last to edit it - don't know if he/she did it. I had disconnected the segment during construction and didn't think to look at that intersection when I reconnected everything - good catch tho (fixed now).
