Reversing Lanes

Hi all,

In my daily commuting I have a number of reversing lanes to use and Waze doesn't seem to recognise them. They only operate on work days on a timed schedule, and if I drive into them Waze thinks I'm driving in the wrong direction (not to mention it never suggests me to go into one of them).

How can I check if they are featured in the map ?

Waze currently does not support time based restrictions (turns, directionality, etc).

I have a personally never seen reversing lanes that it isn't just the middle of the road shifts. In that case there should be nothing for Waze to do.

Many of the Interstates approaching Washington DC have a dedicated reversible roadway in the middle, complete with its own exits and entrances, and gates that are opened or closed based on the direction of traffic depending on the day of week, time of day, or some alternate schedule like long holiday weekends.

I'm not the AM for the area, so I didn't design how it's set up in Waze, but it looks to be fairly efficient. I don't know if Waze would actually route you onto the express lane, or if it would just recognize that you're on it if you took it (it's so close to the regular lanes that Waze might not realize you've changed 'roads'.

They were set up before I started, I believe mapcat did it. We just restrict the entrance at both ends, but if waze does pick you up and figures out you are in the express lanes, it allows you to exit. I drove it on Saturday, going in, it didn't know where I was. Coming out, it got me on it because of the seperation of the 2 ramps at Ohio was enough that waze new I wasn't in the locals.

Interesting.. But yeah, the GPS tracks are so muddy there I doubt it'd ever see you're in that distinct lane, but gotta have something there I guess.
