No spoken instructions after recalculating route

I have noticed a bug that makes navigating difficult using Waze. If I miss my turn during navigation and the route is recalculated, I do not hear a spoken instruction containing the updated instructions.

If I look down at my phone I can see a new path has been plotted, but that requires me to take my eyes off the road. I would much prefer the phone to immediately announce where I need to turn next.

Has anyone else noticed this bug?

It has happened to me once or twice before, but it is not a regular occurrence. I would post this to the appropriate OS/app version feedback thread in the parent client forum.
