unexplained routing, Nashville TN

i use Waze routing pretty much every morning and it usually routes me like i would drive in this area, i.e. straight on Trinity Lane.

this morning, however, it wanted me to take a left as indicated in the permalink above. the client was not showing slow traffic on the avoided segment, and there were not crashes or other incidents to avoid.

i've checked the map tiles for unallowed turns and find nothing out of the ordinary.

suggestions? is this a map issue or a client issue or a navigation algorithm issue?
