TTS gives "exit" instead of turn

Today I drove this area from S-N. I was heading N on TP White Dr / 2nd St. Apparently to bypass the light, Waze wanted me to turn right at Old Hwy 67, left at State Hwy 321, then right onto 2nd street again.

I think I know why Waze must suggest that route, but the question is why did TTS say "Exit right at Old Hwy 67" instead of "turn right"? I thought TTS "exit" directions were reserved for ramps.

Often-asked. Waze currently says 'exit' for any road which leaves the parent freeway/highway at an angle less than a right or near-right angle.

iOS and Tapatalk have conspired to screw up this post.

Well, I guess TTS, exit and turn appear too frequently for the answer to pop up in a search. My previous experience was it would report a "stay to the right" in this kind of situation where a "turn right" was desired. Is that in the new editor feedback thread or somewhere else you can easily find it?

You can get a turn right by using the Y intersection guide and give the angle to the right a geometry node close to the intersection node. If you zoom all the way in when you do it, you'll get the right turn instruction, but on the client, it will be transparent and still look as if it was at the right angle.

Thanks for the replies. Alan, obviously I didn't go through the search results far enough because I never saw one of your responses, let alone 5.

The problem with forums is that sometimes even if you try to do the right thing and search, you don't get meaningful results if you don't know the right combination of keywords to define your question.

As far as I can tell, most of the TTS discussion is in the forum. I didn't find a TTS page in the wiki by searching for TTS and text to speech.

I'll take a look at adjusting the geometry to give it an instruction other than exit. Thanks again.
