Learning problem

On the first occasion I used Waze I passed my destination and made a stop at a fast food restaurant a block or so beyond my home and returned to home. Whenever i navigate home now, the trip includes a loop thru the drive thru at this restaurant. In addition the default route is one I've never driven because it is very inefficient. I've driven the direct route many, many times but Waze insists on navigating via the original route and never seems to learn that I never go that way. Finally, my street was not originally on the map and Waze still insists that my home is on a previous neighboring street (that now no longer exists after my neighborhood was built.) Very annoying, but I am wondering whether the inability to learn could be related to the fact that as far as Waze is concerned I never get "home"?
