any way to change route preferences for a single trip?

I definitely have occasional days where I know it's time to avoid the highway. But I don't want to go into settings and permanently change the setting, I'd like to just activate it for this one trip. Is that possible?

If not, can I make it a feature suggestion? My suggestion would be to have a quick access button to the Navigation Settings for this trip/route. If you want to permanently change the settings then you have to go to Settings - etc.

I'm using version 3.5.3 of the app on iOS 6.

Currently, you cannot change settings on a per-trip basis.
