Routing priority

Several months ago, at italian meetup, Dror said there are differents routing priority, depending on the distance between start and destination site.
Is this kind of priority still running?

As far as we known, yes. Routes of different ranges will strongly prefer only primary street and higher, then highway for longer, and freeway for longer. Segment selection near start and destination can be lower types, but in general, the longer the route, the preference for "higher" road types is used.

That thread, which is right in my home area, is an example of exactly what I responded with in this thread. The Primary Street (Tualatin-Sherwood Rd) is "pruned out" of being considered for routing because it is a Primary St and the route length is in the Minor Highway+ length.

Could be useful a Waze Team member give an answer about this argument.
Too many often Waze build a route not convenient, avoiding local primary with better average speed than a minor.

Waze rarely reads the forums in general, and, when it comes to routing server settings, preferences, etc., they say little or nothing because they consider this important to their core and keep it secret.

Code: Select all: Long Distances: 0-15 km - All road types are allows for routing. 15-20 km - All road types except Streets. 20-30 km - All road types except Streets and Primary streets. 30-200 km - Only Minor, Major, Ramps and Freeways. more than 200 km - only Freeways.

i hope they will change something in the future because how they think we can help them to improve waze without know waze?
