Waze rarely reads the forums in general, and, when it comes to routing server settings, preferences, etc., they say little or nothing because they consider this important to their core and keep it secret.

i hope they will change something in the future because how they think we can help them to improve waze without know waze?

15-20 km - All road types except Streets.
20-30 km - All road types except Streets and Primary streets.
30-200 km - Only Minor, Major, Ramps and Freeways.
more than 200 km - only Freeways.


In my own experience, and I may be completely wrong but have tested a lot of route combinations and map editings, I get 9KM includes primaries, 11KM already does NOT include primaries.

As I keep repeating over and over again. That list is not of absolutes and isn't what it appears to be. Best guess is that list is of the radius distances (point to point) at which routes including those types have additional costs, however they are *not* excluded, just less preferred.

See this thread, further in you'll see an example of route failure due to PtP vs Driven ration (skbun's mountain roads). However all examples in the linked post are counter to the above list.
