Android v3.5.3.0 crashing at startup

my Waze was working fine earlier today but I haven't been able to use it since after lunch (PST). all it would to is show the splash screen and then close when it tries to load the app
I restarted my Android but the problem persists
is it my account that's having a problem or is it the app
