To make the estimation a bit more precise: 2 years ago, Germany took 2 weeks to convert. Brasil has 8 times the quantity of roads. That would have taken 16 weeks then! But according to Moore's Law computing power tends to double every 18 months. Which could mean - very loosely interpreted - that Waze can buy 2.66 times the amount of computingpower at Amazon for the price they paid 2 years ago. It is very likely (given all the growing and infrastructurechanges over the years) that there is more growth in Waze's power than that - lets assume its twice as much money for more roughly 5.3 times the power. In that case Brasil will take about 21 days.
All that based on extreme extrapolation, bad memory, false assumptions, wild interpretations and hefty guesswork. Please, if the import of the Brasilian basemap is over tell me how long it really did take, as by now I am very curious myself.
Waze jezelf!
