Slow at posting alerts / updates

In the past week, I have noticed that alerts are popping up very slowly. I often use alerts to build roads. I will post a map issue with street names or type of road and then later fix the road in the editor. In the past, I would see the alert within an hour or making the drive and now the alert is popping up many days later.

I also noticed that roads I create sometimes have not been adding to the map at all (even though I will see it in my phone app every time I drive by the area). I know it is more than a month into the next update so I don't know if the servers are getting bogged down (I know I have done well over 100,000 map edits since the last update). Should I slow down on my map edits until the next update?
