750-point editing candies

Editor only and yes they reappear if you miss them!

Based on my experience, if you are due multiple editor bonuses, and you miss one, you will not have any more show up on your way until you restart Waze. That first one remains waiting for you and subsequent ones appear only after the first one is eaten, and so on.

You don't lose them forever if you don't pick them up as the database tracks bonuses owed (to be eaten) and marks them eaten only when you drive over them, so they come back next time.

Yeah that is my experience too, I normally just shrug it off and wait until next time! Happens a lot actually as I often don't drive with a route plugged in for short journeys and the candy will show up straight over a junction as I turn left or right!

For a longer time I've not seen any 750-point candy on a road, but my car is occasionally swallowing tiny dark dots (which are much smaller than the road width and I've just noticed them some 1-2 days ago). At the same moment I can see a small golden wazer with usual sound and the points ticker gets incremented (usually by 1k - the smaller values are not displayed anymore).

Is it possible, that Waze has just misimplemented the new orange candies in a way my ancient Symbian client is not capable displaying them, or is it something I could solve? A candy is a nice object to see on a map

Anyone know if the candy logic prohibits delivery of delicious bonbons while driving on a freeway or major highway? Most of my driving is on these types of roads, with often less than one mile on a regular "street"...

It appears to me that Waze is rightfully only displaying editing candies when you are driving at a slower speed such as in traffic or on side-streets with stops. Surely trying to minimize distractions when you are doing 70 mph.

I generally see editing candies:

* At the first intersection after setting a route
* At various intersections when driving on local roads with stops
* On highways when I am going very slow in traffic
* Sometimes on ramps

And sometimes recalculating the route gets another one. I just wish they weren't so obvious as my wife then knows how much editing I've been doing!

They are currently much less obvious on the current Waze 3 beta. They changed the munching noise. Much less obvious.

If you really want a missed candy for some reason (like it's the end of the week and you're trying to make top wazer in your state) just exit and restart Waze and it will reappear.

Although I suspect that the points are added to your total regardless of digesting the candy or not.

In the latest Beta the candy munching is even more obvious than version 2.4. Two sounds.

Anyone know how the 750 goodies work in enough detail to know if they just keep reappearing elsewhere if you don't grab them right away?

Yesterday I arrived at my destination to discover one on the expressway just past where I had just exited. Later when I left, it was gone.

And secondly I always assumed that they were custom candies that only were available to the editor who earned them. But the picture above made me wonder if other editors who are entitled to them can grab them too.

Glad mapcat lives way south of me and Alan way way west!

Oh... and it was purple!
