Not sure if it's been pointed out yet, but what does this mean:

The construction cones, and the fact I have 4 highlighted?

That is the new editor rank system. I'll have to find the translation...

... ah here it is:

Basically, we're in transition to make more sense of the different editing ranks. In the future, the whole process will be changed (i.e. you'll move up the ranks in a different way from what is done today).

Here's the breakdown of what we have right now:
Level 1 - 1 mile around roads you've driven (current editing rank will still show 0)
Level 2 - 1 mile around roads you've driven (DOES NOT EXIST RIGHT NOW)
Level 3 - 1 mile around roads you've driven (DOES NOT EXIST RIGHT NOW)
Level 4 - 1 mile around roads you've driven, everywhere in the area you manage (current editing rank is 2)
Level 5 - 1 mile around roads you've driven, everywhere in the area you manage (current editing rank is 3)
Level 6 - Everywhere in the country you manage (current editing rank 4 and higher)

Ahh, and if you can find that translation, that would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Just updated my post. Key takeaway is that this is all in flux right now and subject to change.

So I assume, at level 6, just like before for Map editors ranked 4 or higher, you can request country-wide access?

Based on the chart I think level 6 means that you already have country wide access. I am not sure if that means that you can work your way up to a level 5 and then you have to request country wide rights to become a 6.

There was also some brief discussion at the Waze Meet Up in Palo Alto regarding a future permissions system where certain road types would be automatically locked and require a specific number of cones to be edited.

I assume that Waze would then change (again) what the locked checkbox does.

We also heard that Waze is considering moving to some type of peer review/approval system in the Map Editor.

From Dror, the current correlation is:

Old rank 0 - new rank 1 cone
Old rank 2 (AM) - new rank 4 cones
Old rank 3 (AM + 100K) - new rank 5 cones
Old rank 4 or 5 (200K club / staff) - new rank 6 cones

But the question now is, can I manage more than 1 country.

If you live near a border (when you are lv6) than it would mean you can manage country completly and 1 country just in places were your the AM.

Also, if you live in 1 country and work in another country sometime the country in the scoreboard changes.
Does this have influence on the editing permissions?
