When deleting some roads, I have found a possible bug in the new editor. I deleted the road, however it still appears on the map. In the new editor, I can still select the road and delete again, but when saving I get the error message that the road has been modified and to please refresh. In cartouche (old) I can see the deleted roads, but can't even select them. This happened to me here:
https://world.waze.com/cartouche/?zoom= ... TTTTFTTTTT
and here:

Any help to clean up the resulting mess would be greatly apreciated.

P.S: I'm using Chrome, if that makes any difference.

Also, I have removed some city names on roads, to clean up smudged cities. However, the Cities layer does not seem to update. ¿How do you force this layer to be updated?

In my experimentation... it doesn't, you have to contact support. There doesn't appear to be a process to prune orphaned city names, they just continue to display at their last location before all the roads were removed from it.

lasermi, the deleted roads should refresh if not right away, after a short time. There is a cache database between Waze Map Editor and the actual street table, so sometimes it will lag. This issue has come and gone with the previous version as well. If you get one which lags for more than an hour, you may need to open a ticket with support.

As for city names, they often will stick around forever. However, when the livemap/app map updates, the cities layer shape should change around the same time. The city coloring in the Editor will not change right away. There's an update process for that.

So, I'm giving up on handling Update requests for a while. Let me explain:

I've been doing my best to handle and reply to *all* UR's within 2 days time. To give the user the perception that their reports are taken seriously, and updates are quick. As such, I have 0 UR's at the end of each editing session, unless I need additional info. I obviously use cartocuhe_old to interact with the user.

Yesterday, with the new editor release, I saw all my old UR's. Waze said the problem would be corrected in 24 hours. It was unclear how i would be corrected, but by the wording, it sounded like the old editor wouldn't be seeing new UR's, and therefor, unusable to email the user. The wiki was updated to reflect that we're supposed to use the forums to contact them. The reality is, most users don't know the forum exists, so that seems like a waste of time. Even if they did, I'm limited to 55 private messages, so.. that's sub-optimal.

Today, I login and check my UR's using cartocuhe_old, so I can get a complete list of all UR's. I then use the bookmarklet to open each UR in the new editor.. so I can edit. When I go back to the new editor, I see UR's that I do not recall having worked.. AND that show they are up to 10 days old. I know 100% without a doubt that yesterday, I had ONE open UR.. today I have almost a dozen that are 10+ days old.

Until Waze gets the UR stuff figured out, and completed.. I'm just going to focus on map editing, and let UR's sit until I'm sure that it's behavior has stablized and can be depended on. Right now, I frankly don't have much faith that my UR efforts are effectively helping anything.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not normally one to complain. I've done QA for years, and know that these kind of things slip through occasionally. But with the UR's behaving "erratically", I just think my time can be better utilized elsewhere until they get a handle on the UR situation.

New Waze Map Editor - Official Feedback Thread

My exact concern with having 2 systems with Update Requests. The beta testers were asking questions about how this was going to work many days ago. Waze really didn't seem to care what we thought about the Update Request systems and rolled it out how it is now, a mess.

Likely you'll make a bigger impact to the community by just editing than spending loads of time trying to find an issue that may or may not exist.

Waze now says the Updates Requests will be synced in a few days vs their original eta of 24 hours. But who knows exactly how they are going to sync them and how they are going to keep syncing them...

This is my thinking too. I'm not trying to be a negative nelly. I know Waze is working hard to make this a great app. And I sincerely appreciate that. I'm just super-confused as to how they want us to handle UR's, and the suggestions here and in the wiki don't seem to be working. Additionally, Waze is (as per their norm) quiet on the subject. I think the one thing I wish above all else, is for better communication from them to the users. It's like the TTS thread. We're essentially volunteering to do the editing and legwork for Waze. We shouldn't have to go through all of the testing, and guessing to figure out how things will be spoken. Waze should *communicate* this info to us so we can make effective use of our time.

I don't care how they want us to handle UR's as long as I *understand* it, and can predict the outcome of working on a UR. Right now, I don't understand it, and can't predict it. So rather than worry about it, I'll let them decide the direction they want to take.. and try to be productive in other ways in the meantime.

And it seems that the requests come up again in cartouche_old. Then I have to "close" them there.

Also in Papyrus I see all old UR that I've already worked on and closed.
