The a12 and the a13 both should sorted from m25 in to Stratford. I'm working at mo on the leyton area as this is what I will have to use when the a12 slip is closed during the Olympics.

That's brilliant, thanks for stepping up for this. I expect Richard Jeeves will post here later - maybe you can work out a way of dividing up the work. Re the AM status - I would chase that up, you should hear back within a few days. Who did you send it to?

I remain willing to help out where I can, maybe name some roads. Feel free to send some of the work my way.

One hot spot that still needs work is Heathrow airport. I've been shying off dealing with the internal roads which appear a mess. I don't get up there very often (not the airport itself anyway) but if no-one else wants to do it I will. As long as a regular user checks what I've done.

Other South East areas needing work (or at least checking):

* Cheshunt and Waltham Cross, around the Lee Valley White Water Centre
* Brands Hatch for the Paralympic cycling
* Hadleigh and Leigh on Sea for the mountain bike competition
* North Surrey up to central London for the Olympic bike road race
* Windsor and Eton and surrounding areas for the rowing (this takes place over several weeks)

There are impact maps for these and areas outside the south east at:

http://www.getaheadofthegames.com/trave ... rdiff.html

(Just change the city name in the top right to see predicted impact).

I can keep up the work on North Surrey and out to Windsor etc, unless anyone else wants to take these on.

Any thoughts about other priorities?

Collecting together the ideas above, what do we want Waze to do for the Olympics?

* Olympic goodies on major/all routes near a venue? Or just anywhere in the UK but with more on roads near sites?
* timed restrictions on roads
* quicker tiling for problem areas?
* reset speeds on some sections?

Is there anything else?

On goodies, we need roads to be as fully validated as possible, some of the major routes get a lot of traffic in any case but it's the alternative routes that may not until the Olympics. I think only locals can work out which those alternatives may be together with maps once TfL etc have made their minds up about closures.

We need to ensure that Waze can/will implement timed restrictions on roads before collecting information about them (when they are eventually released). If we do collect them we need to make sure the information can be quickly turned into Waze friendly data.

I think we could do with quicker retiling in the run up and during so that we can clear up any mistakes asap.

Will it be useful for Waze to reset speed data on affected routes (and switch back afterwards). Will this give any advantage to routing once an entirely new traffic pattern is created?

And finally:

1. How do we want to keep discussion going? Just in this thread or do we want separate threads for infrastructure and other discussions?

2. (How) should we be documenting what we are doing and track progress?

3. Do people want me to shut up? Seriously, I don't mind keeping on about this but if anyone else wants to take on a new role of co-ordinator that's fine with me.

I'm Here :-) I am happy for all the help I can get :-) :-) When I requested the area I shoudl have seen how much work was needed first :-(  .

Hi endorphinpro, I have done the roads around the Westfield shopping centre and they should show up on the next map update, edit what you can (following the wiki) and if possible double check the new roads. I don't mind where you edit, the more the merrier.

All the roads inside the site (currently used for construction traffic are set to Privite road) also if nobody minds i have changed the "Olympic park" landmark to park so you can see the individual venues inside the park.
