Long way out of home

Hi,

I've been using waze for a couple of days now, and every time I leave home southbound (at least twice a day to pick my kids), it sends me north, in a long way to pick up the avenue running south just outside my house.

Attached is a print screen of google earth with both the google and my way and the waze way.

Any ideas why?
