Its such a shame that they don't/won't have anything planned for this, its a massive PR opportunity for them. It also helps local drivers near the Olympics and challenges the pay to use GPS Navigation Apps and systems, especially when CoPilot are planning to bring in special features to their app for it.
I do like xteejyx idea about setting the road speed to zero, but i experience a problem with that when a road was blocked off by police and Waze still tried to navigate me through it, even though it was reported.
Surely there can be something simple and easy to put in place for this which can be removed just as easy. I think London has the most Waze users than any other UK city or town and it seems that this would be a massive kick in the teeth to them, as most of them trust Waze to navigate them around traffic and things like this.
