Current Road Projects in UK

If you're an area manager or a country editor looking for a new project, then check out this list of UK Road Projects:

CBRD wrote:This is a comprehensive listing of every major road project currently underway or planned for the near future - and it's the only one on the internet. Nowhere else brings together work being carried out by both national and local government, and across England, Scotland and Wales.

If you can find good plans and drawings for a new road construction, then you can have it mapped in Waze before it has opened. The new bit of A46 is a great example of Waze getting ahead of the competition.

(If you'd like to comment on a particular project, it's probably best to start a new thread)

Looks handy. Also worth seeing if County Councils manage their own - West Sussex has a useful page (link example below) although I fear that by the time a roadworks markup hits the Waze phone map it will be time to remove it.

Current Road Projects in UK

I was lucky with the A46, in that the construction team had a Wazer among them, giving me GPS traces before the new roads opened.

Quite lucky really as most of it opened after the GPS layer stopped updating.

It may be worth reviewing the list of completed schemes to see if there are any which have been missed.

Yesterday I finished up the 'Weymouth Relief Road', which was opened two years ago.

Personally when I find out there's a new housing estate and it's plethora of new roads being built, I keep an eye and drive down the new roads as they slowly take shape. But it's surprising how long new roads can wait before being actioned. :-(

Would be great if someone higher up could talk to the government to get official liaisons with local authorities.

Can you tell me what bit of it, only I had that set and done the day it opened... so if you did then someone's been futzing around down there and I may need to go fix it - they've made shedloads of changes for the olympics.

Maybe Waze has been messing up with things?
Might be worth getting the permalink and reporting it to support.
Similar things have happened to me in a number of places. They are looking into this for me.

I worked on the A353 - Littlemoor Rd that goes east from the main road development. I don't think you'd done this bit, and the aerials are still out of date.

Can't see the new cartouche yet (google-free zone here). I'm sure I would have done that road though as my mum was living in a house in the finches so was right on top of it... oh well - thanks for your work.
