Actually, you do get warned again for hazards that you report, if you meet the directional and other requirements. I have never had that. Maybe I just missed it.

If it's a split roadway, the "other lane" option doesn't work. If you report "other lane" from a 1-way road segment, no one will ever get the popup.

I think if the warning is a bit stale it won't pop up anything.

What if you launch Waze from its launcher, same black maps? I suspect it'll be the same. I personally do not have this issue in either event.

You should always get a pop-up warning. only the sound warning is played, when over the set speed.

Maybe it's different on the WWW server, but this definitely does work. ;)

Going back to Waze.... and other issues.

Postby realc4ever » Fri Apr 20, 2012 3:52 am

So, I go to do something else on my phone.

Then I hit return to waze after sliding the notification bar open. (on android).

in many cases, the map area is black, yet everything else is on the screen.

The workaround I have to do to get the map to reappear is to go to reports, look at a report, hit back, then look at a report again, then hit back twice and the map reappears.

Another issue is sometimes i can be driving by a hazard or camera as shown on the map but waze doesn't give me any warning. I'm not part of a group, which should allow me to receive warnings from all groups. Sometimes I do, and other times I don't.

I enjoy using your app though. I need a way to erase the history of addresses I have been to on the client as well.
I'm a delivery driver, so I'm all over the place everyday.

Thanks for the app.

I think the speed camera warnings do not pop up if you are below the speed the camera is set for.

As for the speed cam ... pretty sure that you don't get warned unless you're exceeding the limit set on the camera in the editor ... but I haven't experienced that myself, since upstate New York does not utilize speed cameras.

Quite true. (SR-415 in my example above is just a standard two-lane minor state highway.) In Wazetopia ;), the Waze client should remove the "Other Lane" option from the reporting function when traveling on a one-way road ... or, better yet, check to see if there is a corresponding road nearby with the opposite cardinal directional, and place the "Other Lane" reports on that road instead (while suppressing the "Other Lane" option on a single one-way road with no corresponding road) -- but that's not likely to happen either. :(

I have the same issue from time to time with the black screen. It is a bug to look into. I usually just open scoreboard and then back up and it's good again.

The notifications for hazards/etc. will not show up if they are posted by you, are on the opposite side of the road and if someone has already told it it is no longer there. Not sure about the speed cam and your current speed.... I will have to test that theory out. 8-)
