Well today was a rainy day here, so that made for lots of road reports. Waze is still having the issue where intermentantly the first report Waze will not pan to the reported location but will stay at your location while giving the report.

Today it got into a weird loop where it would ask me if I was going to work, I would tell it to navigate there, it would spin to calculate route, and then ask me again if I was going to work, It did this four times, and then the calculating route wouldn't stop. I let that go on for about 7 miles before I sent logs, and restarted Waze. Didn't have an issue with that after that. It also had an issue of not having a network connetion when I did.

Logs were sent at ~14:15 Central (GMT -5)

I have noticed this issue several times and in previous versions. Network/GpS can take several minutes to lock in, and when GPS tries to lock in Waze moves you around several areas of the map trying to triangulate. While this routine is running, Waze will also ask you if you are driving to home/work/other favorite. If you start the navigation before Waze locks onto the GPS then it drops the flag in the wrong start place and it looks odd. Example below the flag is 4 miles past my actual start place. I am bringing this up now because I have seen this more often in this beta than in previous ones, and GPS seems to be locking a lot slower than before. Last night it was ~5 minutes before it locked on.

Beta gets map updates. All comes from the same db.

Ok, I am going to point out a couple of issues, I think they have been brought up before. Excuse me for double or tripple posting. 3 is the max attachments...

First is something I have seen with every 3.* version and have mentioned before. Sometimes when you start up Waze the map is shifted to the bottom left.

You have to go into a menu item that has a full screen and go back out to fix the glitch.

Second is network issues when there isn't a netowrk issue. Has been a problem since the 3rd? beta I started testing.

The -63 in green is the DB reading, as you can see I am full bars on the G (edge) network.

Here is an example of me locked in. My DB reading is -69 and on G. (as you know the larger the number the worse your signal.

(continued)

I have also noticed that Waze does not always put the city/town names in the right place.

The town directly ahead is Lexington. I have personally gone through every street in Lex and Purcell and they are all set correctly. There is .8 mile and a river seperating the two, with only a bridge in between, and the bridge also does not have a city designated to it.

Below is how it should show up, except Lexington isn't populating when it normaly would half the time either (Lexington is straight ahead where Main street is.)

I have noticed this in other areas as well.

Lastly if you start a navigation session before you lock on to GPS Waze will dump the start flag in the wrong spot.

The flag location is about 4 miles away from my actual starting place, and is in the middle of a field. This never was a problem when GPS was locked before the splash screen went away and I have seen this more and more often.

I have noticed that if you choose an alt route it will sometimes show up in blue.

Here is another searching network issue. This time the example shows full bars on 4g. -77dbi. I was in the city, and in an area that never has an issue. Logs were sent at ~1500 CDT 2100 GMT

There is a special debug mode that will log all events in Waze as opposed to some of them out of debug mode. Previous versions debug had to be turned on in every beta release, because testers weren't either turning it on at all, or not turning it on after every beta update (me). Waze made this on by default and also made a visual cue to show that you are actually in debug. You will only see this in betas or if you specifically turn it on. 2##2 in the navigation search is the toggle for those who don't know.

Does the beta get the updated maps when waze updates the map. Or is the map updates just go to reg ver?
