It still has an issue that if it crashes, and tries to automatically upload the appropriate data, the upload fails.

I'm getting those same issues.

Also, hover to active speech recognition is incredibly sensitive in full daylight - moving my hand anywhere near the screen triggers it. I switched to 3-finger tap, and cannot get that to activate it at all. I assume that means touch the screen w/3 fingers, but no manner of tapping seems to get it recognized.

I'm still getting issues with the speedometer and road names occasionally not being displayed correctly.


I also had the phone reboot on me twice yesterday while Waze was running, once with Google Maps/Navigation running in the background, once without. (Sorry, there are some places waze doesn't know about yet, and sometimes, waze's directions just don't make sense. Don't know if it's routing funny, or there are messed up intersections along the way...) Unfortunately, due to the issue noted by TheLungman, logs weren't sent.

EDIT:
One other item that I have seen for quite some time (i.e. prior to this beta) - when there is a pop-up warning of a hazard ahead, there is no indication of what the hazard is. I don't know if other users are indicating a hazard, but not specifying details, or if waze is not telling me about the details when the warning comes up. I think it would be handy to know to look for a car on the shoulder, or a ladder in the left lane, or a tire in the right lane, etc. Again, I don't know if this is a bug in waze, a bug in the users, or it was never supposed to do it in the first place. Does the beta get the updated maps when waze updates the map. Or is the map updates just go to reg ver?

Beta gets map updates. All comes from the same db.

I get very frequently crashes on startup and after that when Waze tries to send the log files it fails although the data connection is working properly.

Also, but this might be due to the GPS sensor more than anything, frequently the GPS is a few meters off and sometimes it "jumps" to an adjacent street.

And very rarely the car is shown as traveling sideways to the street in the direction of travel.

This is on T-Mobile G2x with an early May self build of CyanogenMod 9.

Yeah, I've noticed that at slow speeds the car icon likes to go backwards. Hoping that it doesn't affect the reporting. It certainly looks like it might.

I have many crashes at start up too. And, usually, it lost net connection having full mobile coverage.

This bug is fixed for the upcoming beta.

Perlin, will you update the instructions lists in various languages too? It looks like all countries just have a mix of their own language with English.

Idea about sending logs :
I would like to say that when sending logs, there is no progress indicator while logs are sent.
Only when returning back to the map, we can se the progress indicator, but if we stay in the menu from where we sent the logs, nothing is telling us that logs are being sent.
Maybe you could modify Waze so that when the user tap on "Send logs", we return directly to the map so we can see the process !

I have a repeatable crash on my Galaxy Nexus. Menu -> My Waze -> My Profile -> Privacy -> Show Me as Nickname does a "Unfortunately Waze has stopped" crash, then restarts with an Uh-Oh.

Same here. Repeatable every time. Galaxy Nexus.

Tried same on my Galaxy Tab 7.7. Works without a glitch.
