OS Open Data mistakes

Postby Dave2084 » Wed May 23, 2012 9:05 am

I'm using the OS data more and more, definitely the best resource out there.

I'd there a better viewer than the OS one? I'd like to use more of the screen!

I use OS Musical Chairs, have to say its great in terms of the information it gives you. Just search 'OS musical chairs' in Google and it should be the top result :)

Hi guys,
just to be clear, as mentioned before, using restrictive data bases in order to import street names (or any other data) is illegal and puts the Waze map in danger (and might force us to revert the map to an older snapshot of the map). Thank you for your cooperation.
I'll make sure this is clear in the wiki as well.

Tim, you are gifted and you should get more gifts from waze (or get pay even better  )

Historically there were 'deliberate errors' in the OS data sets which they used to find out if people had been copying their data. That's not to say it's not a fowl up though. :)

Don't forget to do your OSGB36/WGS84 conversion to get the boxes in the right places.
