Feature Request: Cupholder mode

Postby pnear » Tue Apr 24, 2012 6:37 pm

I use Waze in my car every day to and from work. Because of the battery drain on the iPhone while using waze, I keep it plugged in at all times as well. This makes it difficult to place the iPhone in my cupholder.

The ideal solution would be to allow the iPhone to be upside-down in the cupholder with the charging cable coming out of the top, simply auto-rotate the display to match the orientation.

This is a feature in some of the competing navigation apps for the iPhone, and I'd love to see it in Waze.

That's not a bad idea!!
Have a look on uservoice and see if there's a vote for it, if so, vote. If not, create one :)

You'd get a +1 from me, I have a pretty wide centerconsole in my van but if i'm driving and cornering a bit faster (you know, blue's and horns and stuff) my phone tends to end up somewhere in the area my feet are... being able to put it in a cupholder would be great.

Feature Request: Cupholder mode

You need an iSqueez. I've had one of these for 5 years or so and it's great. It holds your phone/iPod snugly in a cup holder and allows you to plug the power cord in the bottom.

YES. And that should be an easy fix, right? And it wouldn't negatively affect anyone who didn't want that.

Dunno I've always had full rotation on all apps on Android. Though does tend to be a feature on most custom ROMs rather than stock ROMs.
