Feature Request: Current Road Speed Limit

Postby MikesTooLz » Sun May 13, 2012 1:08 am

One thing I miss from other GPS apps and even the stand alone units are the display of the current roads speed limit.

Give us the option to report speed limit signs. We could then remove or update the speed limit signs as they are changed, and then the app would also be able to display the current speed limit on screen for the current road the user is driving on.

I have found myself a couple of times looking at the app to see what the current speed limit is only to remember that waze doesn't display speed limits, and there may not be any speed limit signs for a few miles.

I still don't understand the desire for this non-feature that gets turned off from all the stale/wrong data a few days after enabling it on all the devices/apps that have it. Wasted developer and editor time on something solved by something as simple as looking out your windscreen and paying attention to what's going on around your multi-ton weapon. If you're unfamiliar with an area keep right*, and don't tailgate and you'll never get a speeding ticket from a cop with a pulse.

*insert comment about driving on the wrong side of the road and to keep left.

It's all my phone's fault for using Tapatalk.

It's just one more field on every single segment on the map that we'd need to populate. I have enough busywork. :P

At 1 km per segment it would earn you 98.000.000 points! Ofcourse it would take several lifetimes and everything older than a year would be long outdated. Read all the arguments against it here on the forum.
