Use external text-to-speech

Postby gmspeedtrap » Thu May 31, 2012 3:19 am

Hi, just installed Waze and it's great (I reported a speed trap in my first 15 minutes). However, I've downloaded a text-to-speech engine (IVONA) that is much better than Android's robot and the Waze voice. I'd really like to use my chosen/default TTS engine, not Waze's built in one.

I'm an advanced user, though I've been avoiding rooting my phone so far. Motorola Photon 4G, stock, GO Launcher EX.

Waze doesn't, that I know of, have the ability to utilize the built-in mobile OS TTS engine. Someone may have found a way to hack it.
