So this is the second day this is happening to me. I place my hand over the light sensor to report a hazard or car and the client seems to not be able to hear me! Ive come to the point where I'm screaming in my car and then all it says is "cancelled" and doesn't report anything. Im I the only one having this problem?

No. The ASR isn't great and a lot of people report problems with the app understanding commands. Could you advise your device, OS and version of waze though please?

I have an iPhone 4S iOS 5.1 and Waze 3.1.1
Also today, I used Waze on my commute today and it did the same thing. I tried to report hazards two times and it would not l understand or even pick up anything

I have problems, but it is always related to either ambient noise or having the microphone covered by my car mount. The noise cancelling mic on iPhones cannot be used by Waze in this scenario.

Well I checked today and made sure the microphone was not being blocked by my car mount and it wasn't. Also, Im not sure it is so much the ambient noise. I know this because when 3.1 was first released, Waze would actually recognize what I would say and go ahead a make a report for me.

So I think I have discovered a new trend in the this error. The spoken commands work only when I am not in navigation mode. When I am in navigation mode, it says it couldn't hear me and tells me to repeat before it cancels. Then in non navigation mode, just plain Waze maps, it does process my spoken command request. A glitch?

Have this same problem iPhone 4s with iOS 5.1.1 (jailbroken). Once I'm navigating, commands aren't recognized.

Good I have the same exact phone and versions as you. So it might be something I should notify support about?
Except mine is not jailbroken

I figure that someone at Waze sees this forum.
I've just stopped using Waze to navigate. My car GPS is far better at selecting routes anyway. I use Waze merely as a means of avoiding speed traps.

I'll test this out on the latest iOS beta and report it back to the developers.
