Number of local Wazers at rush hour

I believe that this feature is still only active in certain, defined metropolitan areas in the USA.

I agree. Sometimes I will be driving in the country and pass some invisible boundary, and the notice will come up.

Columbus numbers are still growing rapidly. Up to 364 last week.

I'm seeing around 180-220 in the Philadelphia area for the afternoon rush hour. From the wazers overlay on the map, it looks like they are all on 76. So glad I no longer work downtown to have to deal with that. :)

Oh ok. That must be why I can drive along the US border and it will come up.

Yep, I have the same results when getting close to the US Border (San Diego area) in Tijuana Mexico. Waze has not activated this function in Tijuana. As soon as I get close to the US Border, the Wazer's near you is displayed and is only showing details for the San Diego metro area. (not Tijuana)

Horrendous evening commute in Washington DC today. Severe thunderstorms, flash floods appear to have kept everybody on the roads needing waze. 2770 nearby wazers when I fired up waze at 6:15.

This proves krankyd's point that one of Waze's greatest challenges is to get people to run Waze everyone they drive. Not only when traffic is bad.

If all of these part-time Wazers would run Waze daily, we would have fantastic real time traffic in most major metropolitan areas.

Yup, I've noticed that around here as well. I've seen "baby" Wazers spread like wildfire whenever there's abnormally bad traffic. Part of it is also some of the apparent part-timers are those you'd normally never see as their commute would normally be over.

Yes, there certainly is the impact of a longer commute due to heavy traffic that will cause the Wazers near you to be a higher number.

Number of local Wazers at rush hour

Just crossed the 1,000 mark today in Atlanta. Yesterday I've seen around 980 at rush hour... today 1128 wazers. Pretty impressive.
