Waze can only use what is already in Bing or Google, so you have to find a way to get your POI into Bing/Google.

Yes, Waze can search and route you to coordinates, we just recently found out. Forgot about the precise format (should be in FAQ as one of the latest points), if I remember correctly it's eg:

3.87645 , 101.23754 (made the numbers up but it's the format you should try)

Pretty sure it was a comma between lat/long and they were using the point in between. Can be other way round as well, so 101.23754 , 3.87645

From the FAQ it says that US Waze uses Bing search, does it also uses Bing in malaysia, coz I tried searching for my place in Bing and it doesn't seems to return any matches, I still haven't found out how to add (if possible) the POI into Bing maps yet.

Is waze capable of accepting GPS coordinates when doing a search? Coz I can easily find the GPS coordinates using google maps.

Sorry if this is not the right thread to post.

As Andreas has mentioned, POIs should only be landmarks that are of interest to the general public.

If you want to share your place (or any destination) with your friends:
1. Tap and hold the destination in the Waze client.
2. A pop-up will appear on the map. Tap on the arrow that points right.
3. In the next screen, tap on the More button.
4. Tap on Share Location.
5. You have the option of sharing your location with your friends either via SMS or email.

When your friend taps on the http://waze.to/xxxxxx URL in the SMS or email on their phone, the Waze app (if they have it installed) will automatically open and begin routing to that destination. You can also copy and bookmark the URL. Any time you have a friend that uses Waze that wants directions to your place, just send them that same link.

Tip: If you already have your place saved in your Favourites list, you can share it with your friends using the same method above, but from the Favourites screen. Just tap the right arrow on the Favourite location that you want to share and then tap on More.

Have you tried the method of sharing a location that I mentioned in my post?

Do anyone know anyone in the "Eastcost Malaysia" Group. I was looking for a group around my area that I could join.

I'm a newbe, any help would be appreciated. Just tried Waze about a week ago, really like the idea but still a lot need to be done before it can be as usefull as other GPS such as Garmin.

Thanks,

I believe the Area Manager in my area is Karsiong. Have any idea how to contact him. Need his help to clean-up the map a bit.

As Malaysia is still in the status of building up the custom map through it's own users, otherwise also known as Wazers, it's in the interest of the whole community to get as many users as possible to keep Waze running on their mobile phone whilst driving. This group will keep you up-to-date with latest developments on Waze, be it new version, capabilities and map development. Please spread the word about the advantages of Waze vs regular GPS tools like Garmin and TomTom, which besides price (Waze is free), worldwide map availability (Waze works all around the world) is also in it's realtime traffic updates which is being done in the background whilst you're driving. Should you miss a certain street or landmark from Waze in Malaysia, please post it here so that area managers can create it for you. All content on Waze maps is created by users (Wazers) themselves, please also acknowledge their work. To download the software direct your mobile directly to: http://m.waze.com
