Uh..Oh Route Server Timeout

Postby firedevil35 » Wed Jul 11, 2012 10:17 pm

Waze without a doubt was the best app I had on my phone at first. I never had any issues at all. For the last week and a half I have been having constant issues with Waze not selecting a route to take. I have to try 2 to 3 times and sometimes it still doesn't work.

Once a route is established, their are no longer any other route options like their used to be. If I go a different way because I don't want to take a toll road for example, the same thing happens. Waze will begin to search for another route and timeout again. Then it simply doesn't tell me where to go at all. Has anyone else had this problem?

Also speaking of toll roads, an option to avoid toll roads would be nice. Waze always sends me on the local toll roads. Right now I simply drive around the toll roads. Waze used to recognize that and would give other route options. That was ok but like I said, the route server issues are starting to make it worthless. I really like Waze and hope this problem goes away soon.

I am using Waze on a Droid Charge and I am up to date on software. Lastly, their were some major storms in the Washington, DC area around the same time these problems started for me. Does anyone know if that may be the whole issue with the route server?

Thanks,

I am having this issue too. I thought it was my phone but then I just got a new 4g phone and still have the issue. The route are never rerouted if you veer off the original path.

There was an update Thursday to fix this issue, and I am happy to say no more timeouts for me.

It seems like all of today was good at least where I could get cell reception.

Yes, I have found that, at least on the iPhone, I can often reboot it completely and all is good. I think that points to a "client to network/server" issue and not something that Waze can necessarily fix.
