Hi,

I swear if I see another person referencing Google, I'm gonna grab the garden shears and start snipping gonads! ;-)

Snip away!
I do use it, but for street and road viewing to read the street signs. You see, I don't fully trust them.. :)
And street signs are public and are not always obscured by them from the correct angle.. :D

But yes, I use other sources of info as well. Damn confusing when none of them agree! I have then to go edit Openstreetmaps to correct their errors!

Des. . . ;)

Birmingham - Updates to Moor Street Queensway

Postby simonhowes » Thu Jul 12, 2012 11:08 am

I have made some major changes to Moor Street Queensway. Hopefully get them in and correct before the next tile update.

http://www.birminghampost.net/news/west ... -31372898/

I went on foot yesterday to have a look and have made changes to Waze. I'm awaiting a detailed map from Birmingham City Council. I can't find it on their planning system at all. Anyone else feel free to chip in.

I have left some of them with turn restrictions as they are currently coned off. For example, Carrs Lane will not be opened for a few more months, nor will the cut through the central reservation.

I have marked Carrs Lane as a Pedestrian Boardwalk until it opens. I know it is not one, but if you put it as a Walking Trail Waze still navigates through the road. Will it also navigate if it is marked as a private road?

A little off topic. How do I move up from a level 1?

Can someone unlock and fix this please: https://world.waze.com/editor/?zoom=6&l ... TTTTTTTTFT

It is possible to turn right from what is marked as Newton Street (should be Dale End) on to James Watt Queensway South (plus that should be called "B4114 Chapel Street - James Watt Queensway S") and straight on to Coleshill St.

We can all use these for reference. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Birmingh ... ngdom&z=18

Google has updated their imagery. I put them as 2 months old.

Haha.

I'm far better off using Google satellite images as a guide to new road layouts than Bing's outdated ones. :P

Thanks. I have read the wiki now. Point taken, I'll not use google for "copying", but just one source or many for referencing to.

Yikes, looks like they had problems with South American countries. Thank goodness you can't copyright fact in the EU and UK.

Looks good, though you need to check the turn restrictions. I saw some that were restricted that looked like they shouldn't be.

When it's all completed, let me know if you want a level (4) lock placing on them. It won't stop other AMs from messing it up, but it will stop lower level editors.
