So I have been wondering this for a bit since the tiles have not been updated yet I have no way of knowing if my submissions for gas stations are correct or not come client side.
When adding a gas station on the map using WME I just go to landmark and then select the area, label it as a gas station, and then I put in the type of gas station for the name (ie shell, conoco, etc).
Does anyone know come client side if this will be correct or should I be entering them a different way? I have searched the forums and the wiki and did not see an answer.
Also side track from the current question but was wondering about areas marked as parking lots. So was browsing and I'm finding lots of places marked as parking lots by an ign. Yes they are parking areas but not general parking. It's places like a Wendy's parking lot and walmarts. Should those be marked or not? My common sense says unless it's general parking for an area then it shouldn't be marked but thought I would ask if there is a current standard or not.

Are you in the US? If so, don't add any gas stations. The suggestion on the welcome screen was intended for countries without a station database.

Yes in America. I will remove the ones I have added then. Is there a post about this that I missed?

I don't know of a thread about this in particular. But when 3.2 debuted with the gas price feature in the US, they said they started with the US because they already had a nearly-complete database. It is not something we have access to yet, so you can't add anything to it.
If the stations you were adding were already in the db (route to them and see if they come up in the app) then go ahead and remove them, but if you were adding any unknown stations, you may want to keep those since there's a possibility they could be needed eventually.

It is expected that Waze will give us the ability to add, modify, and delete gas Stations in WME in the USA, 'soon'. There will be individual fields for Brand, Address, and phone number.

Is there a guide for INTL editors? In New Zealand the list of brands is blank.

List is empty in Finland as well.. On the blog post, they posted a link to a survey where you can specify the different types of fuel and brands available in your country :

I very curious to see how they merge the gas stations in the existing price database with the existing landmark layer. Currently there a few gas stations that are already mapped as gas station landmarks that are also in the presumably separate price database. There are also may other landmarks (many golf courses) that are now labeled as gas station landmarks as well. These erroneous landmarks seem to have changed to gas stations with the change of the default landmark to gas station. There are also many gas stations in my area that have been designated as parking lot landmarks by the ign team. I can see why waze might be having issues adding the new gas station data to the existing editing map.

So while we wait for the ability to edit the Gas Station database, should we just hold the locations that no longer exist as a gas station, or should we send it to support? I noticed one station in my area that has been there for decades and last week it was torn down completely.
In the mean time, I am not near a station to get to that screen, but I thought there was an option to note a particular level of fuel was not available (e.g., no Diesel). Maybe we just list it as $0.00 and the database does not assume that is the best price and route everyone there.
Once someone confirms that is the process I can update the Wiki page
http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/Gas_Stations if someone does not beat me to it.
