see attached segment "bukova"
fortunately I'm anyway capitalizing the names

It doesn't fix city or street names that were added incorrectly in the past, only names you add now and in the future.

Is there a way to override the auto capitalization? We have a few roads that are name "deThis Rd" or "deThat St" with the lower case leading on all the signs - I'm sure there are other communities around the country (and world) where this would be a much bigger problem than it is here in CT...

Well @&%^. That was one of the main reasons we told them to look at auto-capitalization. Really, the signs all start with a lower case? Not like "Calle de Alcalá"?

I created that like 5 minutes ago, so it happened with a brand new segment and road name.

Yep... and new US DOT MUTCD standards are for the road signs to be proper case (there was a hard deadline for all states/municipalities to do this, but it's been moved to "as signs require replacement")...
I'll try to get over there and snap a photo in the next few days...

Found a good Street View of the one of the signs - and the small on street signs match the capitalization of the CT-9 S Exit 14 sign...

and doesnt't matter, whether I use chrome or FF.
EDIT: and doesn't matter whether I click "Apply" or just hit Enter when naming the road.

Don't worry about it, I believe you. Thanks for the street view shot.
But since you imply that the standards require the street name to start with a capital letter, what's wrong with Waze complying first and letting reality catch up? It's not like someone's going to get lost because the d is a D.

I didn't say "Start with a Capital Letter", I said "Proper Capitalization"... If you look at
http://www.basicfamouspeople.com/index.php?QA=D "Proper Capitalization" can mean either - depending on how a person spells their name (if a road is named after a person)...
I'm not saying Auto Capitalization is bad, just that there needs to be an override...
