I have paved a road in my local area that wasn't present on the waze sat nav. I started paving which left behind a red line, when i came to the end of the lane i pressed finish, the was told to publish the road at
www.waze.com/livemap, so i logged on and there was nothing there, not even any of my points, according to the website i have no points and have covered no miles, but on my phone i have 1000 points and covered 100+ miles, i have turned data compression on on my phone, would this be the problem or is it something else?

Hi! Welcome to Waze!

You (or someone else) will need to editor the road in the editor. Once it has been given a city and a name, it will be a couple weeks before it will appear on the LiveMap, or on your phone.
I'm guessing you're in the UK? You'll need to login to
http://world.waze.com/editor to edit the map. Or, tell me whereabouts, and I'll take a look for you.
Caveat: It may be a few days before the paved roads appears, as Waze has a backlog to catch up on.

And to clarify a few points on the process. All edits done in the editor online and any paving done (which still needs to be edited for it to go onto the live map) only go live when there is a map tiles update. When working well this has occurred as frequently as weekly, however due to some significant work being done on the back end infrastructure it's been nearly six weeks since an update occurred on the North America Server (US and Canada) I believe the world.waze server, often called the ROTW server, did have a tile update a couple weeks ago but don't count on another one until they get the background upgrades in place.
So log-in to the server and confirm the roads (they'll turn white when you save them), and then be patient. They will go live, we just don't know when.
In addition to using the world.waze.com/editor page, also be sure to log in to world.waze for all your Waze activities. You'll find your points in the dashboard there.

I too have also paved several roads in the Asheville, NC areas using my phone. I was able to go to the map editor and name the roads and save them. The roads are white in Chrome when am am logged into Waze, but still appears red on the phone and unpublished at
www.waze.com - It's been about 12 days now and I'm beginning to think that I shouldn't even pave roads anymore.

Also the red on your phone may remain for a few weeks after the edits go live. They get stored in your phone's cache. I had a couple roads I paved and edited, and two weeks later they were live, but they remained bright red on my phone for nearly a month more.
