Roundabout instructions

Postby Wolfeye » Sat Aug 04, 2012 1:54 pm

Does these angles still apply as a rule for roundabouts?
See this wiki page in the lower section, under creating.
http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/How_ ... roundabout

I got the instruction to turn right at the roundabout but there was actually (irl) only two options, continue straight or turn left. Was it because of the lack of that road, to the right, that made the instructions wrong? Does the system always count the first exit as going right?

First, that link is for the old (Cartouche) editor... This is the one for the new (WME) Editor: http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/Creating_and_Editing_a_roundabout

Also, can you post a Permalink to the roundabout in question - as it may not really be a roundabout...

Also, I think it's size dependant, smaller ones giving left/right, larger ones, numbers.

Roundabout instructions

I know that's for Cartouche but I wondered if it still applies to roundabouts. It was easier to refer to that page, describing what I was thinking of in English, rather than me trying to explain it myself. Though my English has it's limitations. ;-)
If someone do have an answer for my question about angles and other rules for roundabouts it would be really nice to see what you have to say!

It wasn't absolutely circular, after some changes at connecting roads, so I deleted and made it all from scratch. It's not that big either so I made it as big as possible.

I hope it'll solve my problem.

Why can you not just use WME and draw a normal roundabout?

I always use WME, except for adding house numbers.

The point is that I'm curious if it'll work, how it'll work and why it'll work.

Maybe someone will get around to merging the still-valid information on entrance/exit angles into the WME documentation on roundabouts...

All I've done with that new page is link to the existing roundabout page. I had no short term plans to touch the roundabout page itself. If someone is up for it, have at it. :)
